Abstract:
The cause and lozic effects of hypermagnesemia are summarized and the dangers of antacids and cathartics containing magnesium in renal failure stressed. Excess magnesium may be removed by dialysis, and therefore a recent report of hypermagnesemia following hemodialysis with hard water is of interest.
