In order to produce glucose, plants need to capture sufficient light energy. Many modern plants have evolved leaves specialized for light acquisition. Leaves can be only millimeters in width or tens of meters wide, depending on the environment. Summary

Breath-held Liver Acquisition with Volume Acquisition (LAVA) MRI sequences were preferred over respiratory-triggered DIfferential Subsampling with Cartesian Ordering (rtDISCO) due to less motion artifact. Image quality was comparable for most clinical tasks.
