Human umbilical tissue-derived cells (hUTCs) show potential for treating age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Subretinal injection of hUTCs inhibited choroidal neovascularization (CNV) and reduced vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in a rat model.
