Abstract:
Current insurance practices discriminate against the arthritis patient who does not require acute-level care. Such practices inadequately deal with the financial barriers to the procurement of the health care services that are effective in relieving pain and increasing mobility and quality of life. The result often is frustration for both the patient and the physician.
