Summary

Readout-segmented echoplanar (rsEPI) diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) offers improved prostate shape delineation and image quality compared to single-shot EPI (ssEPI) in multiparametric MRI. rsEPI DWI is a promising sequence for prostate cancer MRI-guided biopsy and treatment planning.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare readout-segmented echoplanar (rsEPI) DWI with single-shot EPI (ssEPI) for prostate mpMRI.

  • To assess diagnostic accuracy for prostate cancer detection.

  • 110 patients with suspected prostate cancer underwent mpMRI with both ssEPI and rsEPI DWI.

  • rsEPI DWI is a potentially more suitable sequence for prostate MRI, aiding in MRI-guided biopsy and therapy planning.
