Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate ultrasound elastography findings in patients with systemic sclerosis (SS).
  • To determine the effectiveness of elastosonography in differentiating scleroderma lesions from other skin conditions based on tissue elasticity.

Main Methods:

  • Thirty-six patients with diagnosed systemic sclerosis and 36 healthy controls were enrolled.
  • Sonoelastography was performed on the forearm, arm, and dorsal aspect of the fingers.
  • Quantitative analysis of RGB images, including total pixels, blue pixels, and blue index, was compared between groups.

Main Results:

  • Significant differences in mean total blue pixels were observed in the arm between SS patients and controls.
