Summary

Muscle loss (sarcopenia) is common in older adults with type 2 diabetes and linked to frailty. This study found sarcopenia features in frail individuals were associated with reduced grey matter in brain motor control areas.

  • Findings suggest a link between muscle integrity, brain structure, and frailty in older adults with T2DM.
