Background:

  • Post-traumatic epilepsy (PTE) is a common complication following traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Purpose of the Study:

  • To determine the incidence of post-traumatic epilepsy (PTE) in patients with severe closed head injuries.

  • A cohort of 164 consecutive patients with closed head injuries, characterized by unconsciousness and amnesia for at least one hour, was studied.
