Piperacillin/Tazobactam versus Tobramycin-Based Antibiotic Prophylaxis for Type III Open Fractures

Piperacillin/tazobactam prophylaxis for Type III open fractures did not differ in composite adverse events compared to tobramycin. However, surgical site infections were significantly less common with piperacillin/tazobactam within 30 and 60 days.
