Investigating the phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome ten (PTEN) gene, this study found a significant correlation between PTEN gene polymorphism and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). The C/C genotype of rs9651495 was linked to lower PTEN protein expression and increased OSCC risk.
