- Specific IL-6 gene polymorphisms, namely rs1800795, rs1800796, and rs1800797, play significant roles in the development of diabetic nephropathy.
- IL-6 rs2069837 and rs2069840 polymorphisms may not be directly associated with susceptibility to DN.
- These findings highlight the potential genetic contribution of IL-6 to DN pathogenesis and may inform future research and clinical strategies.
