Protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor type O (PTPRO) exacerbates ulcerative colitis (UC) inflammation by promoting toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling. PTPRO is also a potential diagnostic marker for UC.
