Distinguishing between primary and secondary volcaniclastic deposits

A new category, "reprocessed" volcaniclastic deposits, is proposed for volcanic materials altered by nonvolcanic processes. This challenges traditional primary/secondary classifications, especially when both reprocessed and reworked particles coexist.
