Background:

  • Intimate partner violence (IPV) is recognized as a significant issue, with technology increasingly used to perpetrate abuse.
  • Cyber dating abuse (CDA) is a growing concern, but its unique impact on psychosocial functioning, independent of in-person IPV, is not well understood.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the unique associations between cyber dating abuse (CDA) victimization and psychosocial well-being.
  • To control for multiple forms of in-person intimate partner violence (IPV) victimization when examining CDA's effects.

Main Methods:

  • Survey study involving 278 young adults (ages 17-25) in relationships.
  • Participants completed questionnaires assessing IPV, CDA victimization, and psychosocial well-being indicators.
