Summary

Bone mineral density (BMD) can significantly improve the diagnosis of celiac disease (CD) when human leukocyte antigen (HLA) and histology are unavailable. Incorporating low BMD as a malabsorption indicator boosts diagnostic sensitivity in children with CD.
