Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the reliability of the Virtual Systematic Tool for Evaluating Pedestrian Streetscapes (Virtual-STEPS).
  • To assess Virtual-STEPS as a Google Street View-based tool for remote micro-scale built environment auditing.

Main Methods:

  • Developed Virtual-STEPS with 40 items across 6 domains.
  • Conducted virtual and field audits in Montreal neighborhoods.
  • Assessed reliability using percent agreement, Cohen's Kappa, and Intra-class Correlation Coefficient.
