    Summary

    Transcatheter electrocoagulation (TCEC) effectively occluded vessels using Gelfoam or Ivalon embolization in high-risk patients. This interventional radiology technique successfully reduced blood supply to lesions with minimal complications.

    Background:

    • Transcatheter electrocoagulation (TCEC) is an emerging technique for vessel occlusion.
    • Embolization with Gelfoam and/or Ivalon is a common adjunct therapy.
    • Alternative interventions were deemed too risky for selected patients.

    Observation:

    • Six patients with complex lesions underwent TCEC combined with embolization.
    • The procedures were performed when other methods were contraindicated.
    • Lesion locations varied across the patient cohort.

    Findings:

    • TCEC combined with embolization effectively decreased or obliterated blood supply to lesions in all six patients.
    • The interventional technique demonstrated high efficacy in achieving vessel occlusion.
