Summary

Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) retinopathy risk increases with longer duration of use and higher blood levels. Monitoring HCQ blood levels can help predict and prevent retinopathy in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Prediction of Red Blood Cell Antibody Significance Using the Monocyte-Macrophage Assay

We have developed enhancements and updated methods for the existing monocyte-monolayer assay (MMA), in which macrophages are used to help better predict the clinical relevance of red cell alloantibodies in transfusion medicine and immunology. This assay is named the monocyte-macrophage assay...

Oxygen-Induced Retinopathy Model for Ischemic Retinal Diseases in Rodents

Oxygen-induced retinopathy (OIR) can be used to model ischemic retinal diseases such as retinopathy of prematurity and proliferative diabetic retinopathy and to serve as a model for proof-of-concept studies in evaluating antiangiogenic drugs for neovascular diseases. OIR induces robust and reproducible neovascularization in the retina that can be...
