    Background:

    • Chronic low back pain (CLBP) affects a significant portion of the population.
    • Effective and accessible treatment options for CLBP are continually sought.
    • Home-based therapeutic devices offer potential for convenient patient management.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the effects of gravity traction devices on patients with CLBP.
    • To compare the tolerability, ease of use, and symptom changes associated with different traction devices.
    • To assess physiological responses and side effects during traction therapy.

    Main Methods:

    • A clinical study involving 20 participants with CLBP.
    • Subjects used two inversion traction devices and one upright suspension traction device.

  • Physiological parameters (pulse, blood pressure) were monitored, and side effects were recorded. Lumbar spine radiographs were taken.

    • Gravity traction devices can provide lumbar intervertebral distraction and may improve CLBP symptoms.
    • Inversion traction poses risks of physiological changes and adverse effects, requiring medical supervision.
    • Upright suspension traction appears safer regarding physiological impact for home use.
