Summary

Longevity populations exhibit distinct finger length ratios, with a lower prevalence of the feminine type 1 ratio and a higher prevalence of the masculine type 3 ratio compared to nonlongevity groups. This pattern was consistent across ethnic groups studied.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate differences in finger length ratio prevalence between longevity populations (Abkhazians, Azerbaijanis, Georgians) and a nonlongevity population (Russians).
  • To compare finger length ratio patterns within an ethnic group (Abkhazians) by contrasting longevity and nonlongevity samples.
