Esophagitis evolution after sleeve gastrectomy or gastric bypass in consecutive cases

Sleeve gastrectomy (SG) increases the incidence of erosive esophagitis (EE) one year post-surgery, while gastric bypass (GBP) appears to improve this condition. These findings suggest a link between bariatric procedures and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
