Education and training in gastroenterology. A report from Europe

A questionnaire was sent to all associations of gastroenterology in Europe. The answers provided the basis for the conclusion that gastroenterology does not seem to be as established a speciality in Europe as many other specialities. There are clear future needs and growth potentials. There is also a clear need for increased international communication and cooperation.
