    Summary

    Background:

    • Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurological disease characterized by demyelination and axonal damage.
    • Current treatments for MS focus on managing symptoms and slowing disease progression, with limited options for functional recovery.
    • Percutaneous epidural stimulation (PES) is an emerging neuromodulation technique with potential therapeutic applications.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the effectiveness of percutaneous epidural stimulation (PES) in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).
    • To assess neurological and functional status changes following short-term thoracic epidural stimulation in MS patients.

    Main Methods:

    • Eleven patients with multiple sclerosis underwent trial percutaneous epidural stimulation at the thoracic level for 4 to 10 days.
