Evaluating heart function in patients with POEMS syndrome

POEMS syndrome is associated with elevated left ventricular mass index and subclinical systolic and diastolic dysfunction in both the right and left heart. Echocardiography reveals impaired cardiac function, including pulmonary hypertension, in affected individuals.
