Summary

Multiple evanescent white dot syndrome (MEWDS) shows increased choroidal thickness and vascularity during acute stages. These changes significantly decrease during the recovery phase in affected eyes.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate choroidal structural changes in patients with MEWDS during acute and recovery stages.
  • To quantify choroidal thickness and vascularity in affected eyes.

  • Enhanced-depth imaging optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT) was used in 16 patients with unilateral MEWDS.
  • Images were analyzed using ImageJ software to measure subfoveal choroidal thickness (CT), total choroid area, and choroidal vascularity index (CVI).
