Soft-tissue masses in Gaucher disease are rare. Combining enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) with substrate reduction therapy effectively reduced large masses in a Gaucher disease type 3 patient.
Area of Science:
- Biochemistry
- Genetics
- Oncology
Background:
- Gaucher disease is a rare genetic disorder.
- Soft-tissue masses are an uncommon manifestation of Gaucher disease.
- Gaucher cells infiltrate tissues, leading to mass formation.
