Tuberculosis-immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (TB-IRIS) is an overactive immune response to Mycobacterium tuberculosis, occurring during or after TB treatment. It can manifest paradoxically or unmask a hidden infection, particularly in HIV patients starting antiretroviral therapy.
