  • Thyroid function tests indicated elevated free triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4) with suppressed thyroid-stimulating hormone, alongside positive thyroid antibodies, confirming Graves' disease.

Findings:

  • The patient was diagnosed with cholelithiasis concurrent with Graves' disease.
  • Treatment involved thiamazole and subsequent laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

Implications:

  • Rapid and substantial weight loss in children may serve as a risk factor for developing gallstones.
  • Hyperthyroidism can potentially exacerbate cholelithiasis through its effects on cholesterol metabolism.
