Biliary fistulas can complicate liver surgery and interventions. N-butyl-cyanoacrylate glue successfully sealed a challenging bilio-cutaneous fistula through a percutaneous drainage tract, offering a novel minimally invasive treatment option.
Area of Science:
- Hepatobiliary Surgery
- Interventional Radiology
- Gastroenterology
Background:
- Biliary fistula and bile leakage are known complications following hepato-biliary surgery and percutaneous biliary interventions.
- While spontaneous resolution occurs, re-intervention is often required for persistent cases.
