Background:

Medical training requires more than just acquiring competencies; it needs practical application for quality care.
Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) are key to UK medical curricula, representing tasks needing multiple competencies.
Assessments for EPAs are vital for ensuring physicians are ready for independent practice.

Purpose of the Study:

To develop and evaluate an assessment for Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) as an example EPA.
To determine the validity and reliability of the CGA assessment station.

Main Methods:

A CGA station was integrated into the Diploma in Geriatric Medicine clinical examination.
Candidates completed three competency-based stations and one EPA-based CGA station.
Statistical analysis examined correlations between CGA scores and overall performance, and inter-rater reliability.
