Gonadotropins in Keratoconus: The Unexpected Suspects.

This study reveals gonadotropins, luteinizing hormone (LH), and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), play a role in keratoconus (KC). These hormones and their receptors were found in the human cornea, suggesting a new mechanism for KC onset and progression.
