Summary

Peripheral nerve conduction studies reveal subclinical neuropathy in 28% of HIV-seropositive patients. Early detection of this myelinic or axonal neuropathy may warrant prompt treatment, even in asymptomatic individuals.

  • To investigate subclinical peripheral nerve abnormalities in HIV-seropositive individuals without overt neurological symptoms.
  • To characterize the type and distribution of any detected neuropathies.

  • Electrophysiological assessment of peripheral nerve conduction was conducted.
