Summary

Complications of the XEN® gel stent (a microinvasive glaucoma device) include migration and breakage. Management strategies for these XEN stent issues are discussed to aid clinical decisions.

Background:

The XEN® gel stent is a microinvasive glaucoma device for aqueous humor drainage.
It offers an ab-interno approach to reduce intraocular pressure.

Complications included stent migration into the anterior chamber and fragmentation.
Other issues involved intraoperative breakage and post-operative scarring.
