Summary

Chronic myalgia patients exhibited mitochondrial damage in Type 1 muscle fibers, indicated by ragged red fibers and reduced adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and adenosine diphosphate (ADP) levels. Healthy individuals did not show these specific pathological signs.
