This study found that sperm head damage significantly impacts fertilization rates in IVF, not acrosin levels. Normal sperm morphology is the key predictor for successful fertilization in assisted reproductive technologies.

Conclusions:

  • Acrosin concentration does not appear to be a reliable predictor of fertilization success in IVF patients with severe sperm damage.
  • Normal sperm morphology remains a critical factor influencing fertilization rates in assisted reproductive technologies.
  • Further research may be needed to identify other biomarkers or factors impacting fertilization in challenging cases.
