Reduced lateral e' velocity is a key indicator for symptomatic left ventricular diastolic dysfunction (LVDD). This finding helps differentiate between asymptomatic LVDD and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).

Background:

Purpose of the Study:
- To identify echocardiographic parameters associated with symptomatic presentation in patients with LVDD.

- Lateral e' velocity emerged as the strongest independent predictor of symptomatic LVDD, with a cutoff of ≤8.2 cm/s showing 76% sensitivity and 79% specificity.

- Reduced lateral e' velocity is a significant echocardiographic marker associated with symptomatic LVDD and HFpEF.
- Lateral e' velocity demonstrated a negative correlation with NYHA class in the HFpEF group, further supporting its clinical relevance.
