Induced Myopia Secondary to Blunt Trauma

Blunt head trauma can cause sudden vision loss due to anterior segment changes. Anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) effectively visualizes these traumatic eye injuries.

- Anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) documented forward displacement of the iris-crystalline lens diaphragm.
- This was attributed to ciliary body anterior rotation and ciliochoroidal effusion.
- A significant temporary myopic shift of approximately 7.00 Diopters was observed, resolving within 15 days.

- AS-OCT is a valuable tool for diagnosing and documenting traumatic anterior segment changes.
- Understanding these mechanisms aids in managing blunt eye trauma and associated refractive errors.
