Changes in pulmonary function tests (PFTs) significantly impact health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in systemic sclerosis (SSc) patients, though the effect is minor. Improvements in lung function correlate with better HRQoL scores over time.

- In SSc-ILD patients, HRQoL perception is minimally influenced by pulmonary function changes.
- Generic HRQoL questionnaires may lack sensitivity to detect the impact of targeted therapies on specific SSc manifestations.
