Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) graduates exposed to prolonged noise above recommended levels showed impaired hearing. These infants had lower Distortion Product Auto Acoustic Emission Signal Noise Ratio (DPOAE SNR) amplitudes and higher DPOAE fail rates.
