Individuals with Bálint syndrome, a visuospatial deficit, struggle significantly more with electronic device interfaces than those with unilateral spatial neglect or memory issues. Their visuospatial working memory deficits impact interface navigation and spatial control.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the usability of flat touch interfaces for individuals with visuospatial impairments.
  • To compare the performance of individuals with Bálint syndrome and unilateral spatial neglect (USN) on a digit input task.

  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis of digit sequence input on a flat touch interface.

  • Visuospatial working memory deficits are strongly related to difficulties in perceiving interface layouts.
  • Impaired visuospatial function significantly affects spatial control during the operation of electronic devices.
  • Findings highlight the challenges faced by individuals with severe visuospatial deficits in using standard touch interfaces.
