Prevention and Management of the Failed Flatfoot
Abstract:
The acquired adult flatfoot deformity is a challenging condition to manage and even more so in a revision setting. To "get it right" the first time, it is important to completely understand the deformity by performing a complete history, careful physical examination, and deliberate evaluation of radiographs. There are several techniques to achieve the complete correction of complex flatfoot deformities. There are also strategies for revising failed flatfoot reconstruction in the setting of overcorrection and undercorrection and malunion.
