  • 30% of subjects reacted to basidiospore extracts, with prevalence ranging from 6% to 18%.

  • Basidiospore extracts elicited allergic reactions in a significant portion of subjects.
  • The prevalence of reactivity to basidiospores was comparable to that of Fungi Imperfecti.
  • Basidiospores are suggested to be important aeroallergens, particularly in the Pacific Northwest.
