Right ventricular diastolic dysfunction in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is detectable with velocity vector imaging (VVI). RV-SRe measurements correlate with disease severity, indicating early myocardial changes.

Conclusions:
- RV diastolic dysfunction is an early manifestation in OSAS patients.
- VVI, particularly RV-SRe, can detect subclinical myocardial dysfunction and reflect RV diastolic dysfunction effectively.
