Background:

Recurrent patella dislocation (RPD) poses a significant challenge in orthopedic practice.
The optimal surgical strategy for RPD remains debated, with various combinations of techniques employed.

Purpose of the Study:

To compare the surgical outcomes of different combined surgical techniques for treating recurrent patella dislocation.
To evaluate the efficacy of MPFL reconstruction and LPR release versus other surgical combinations.

Main Methods:

Retrospective analysis of 79 RPD patients' clinical data (August 2014 - October 2016).
Assessment of knee joint parameters: congruence angle (CA), patellar tilt angle (PTA), and lateral patellofemoral angle (LPFA).
Evaluation of knee function using Kujala, Lysholm, and Tegner scores, with follow-up until October 2018.

Main Results:

No statistically significant differences were observed in CA, PTA, LPFA, or redislocation rates among the surgical groups.
The MPFL reconstruction and LPR release group demonstrated the highest functional scores (Lysholm, Kujala, Tegner).
The LPR release and MPR plication group reported the lowest functional scores.

Conclusions:

Surgical combinations for RPD yield similar postoperative joint congruence and redislocation rates.
MPFL reconstruction combined with LPR release is recommended due to superior knee function outcomes.
This approach warrants further promotion for managing recurrent patella dislocation.
