[A case of large mixed thrombus in the left heart atrium]

A case is presented of a woman with a combined Rheumatic mitral valvular disease with a large mixed thrombus (65 mm) in the left atrium diagnosed post mortem. Such cases are very rare. In the course of the investigation of the patient many difficulties arose in spite of the use of modern instrumental methods. The precise and timely diagnosis of a thrombus in the left atrium allows an early radical treatment.
