Summary

Amniotic fluid analysis reveals that surfactant levels, indicated by the lecithin/sphingomyelin ratio and phosphatidyl-glycerol presence, mature significantly around 35-37 weeks of pregnancy. This maturation correlates well with newborn respiratory function.
