Abstract:
Direct conversion of 17-ketosteroids (Ia-f) into 16,16-dimethyl-17 beta-hydroxysteroids (IIa-f) and 16,16-dimethyl-17-ketosteroids (IIIa-f) was achieved with methyl iodide in the presence of NaH.
