Summary

Task-based mirror therapy (TBMT) significantly improved motor function and reduced spasticity in subacute stroke patients with moderate to severe upper limb impairment. This therapy offers a valuable addition to conventional rehabilitation for enhancing recovery.

Background:

  • Upper limb disability post-stroke remains a significant rehabilitation challenge.
  • The efficacy of task-based mirror therapy (TBMT) for moderate to severe upper limb impairment in subacute stroke is not well-established.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare the effects of TBMT versus standard occupational therapy on motor function and activities of daily living in subacute stroke patients.
  • To evaluate TBMT's impact on moderate and severe upper limb impairment.

  • Randomized controlled trial involving 30 subacute stroke patients with moderate to severe upper limb impairment.
