Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To conduct an updated meta-analysis evaluating the efficacy of relaxation therapy for depression.
  • To compare the effects of relaxation therapy against psychotherapy and control conditions.

Main Methods:

  • Systematic search of multiple electronic databases (PubMed, MEDLINE, PsycINFO, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CINAHL).

Conclusions:

  • The efficacy of relaxation therapy is comparable to that of psychotherapy for depression management.
