Morphological characteristics of the lateral ankle ligament complex

The anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL), calcaneofibular ligament (CFL), and posterior talofibular ligament (PTFL) interconnect, suggesting they stabilize the ankle joint together. Type II ATFL was most common, but ligament sizes showed no significant differences between ATFL types.
